Social Studies, Stokes, the Fishbowl! All This Week!

This is an action-packed week!

First, students will spend class time wrapping up our first activity list, which concerns Location and Movement (the first two Themes of Geography) and Prehistory (specifically, the Old Stone Age).

We'll also be working in the Fishbowl computer lab on Tuesday. Every year in September, all sixth grade Social Studies classes complete the Acceptable Use Policy lesson, which is guided by the Technology Department and explains to students the ins-and-outs of our computer network.

On Friday, Session 1 for Stokes begins, and Session 2 will join us on Saturday. Stokes is a fantastic time, and one of my favorite activities in LCJSMS. I hope that by Sunday, all of the sixth graders agree!

Since we're towards the end of our first activity list, we'll most likely have a small quiz on Location, Movement, and the Old Stone Age next week (the exact date is still to be determined, but Tuesday or Wednesday is probably a safe bet. We'll spend a bit of time this week and at the beginning of next week discussing, reviewing, practicing, and studying for the quiz.

Have a great week!
