For this Week....

Students have a few things going on this week. First, we'll be working on our Civil Rights/Martin Luther King Jr. project (in conjunction with our Language Arts classes). Students have already begun this project in Language Arts, and watched a video on the Birmingham Children's March yesterday (some classes needed to finish the video today).

On Wednesday and Thursday, students will be working on activities related to the Civil Rights Movement and the life and times of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. They'll look at this time period through the use of the Eight Traits of Culture.

Speaking of the Eight Traits of Culture, we have a quiz planned on Art, Religion, and History scheduled for this Friday, November 22. The quiz will assess student knowledge of these three traits, and how they apply to the Fertile Crescent. Students should be studying (by utilizing their study strategies), and should bring a study tool to class with them on Friday. Students may also utilize the study guide located on the Handouts Page, and activities that Mrs. Ackerman has created on Quizlet and Zondle. The Code needed to set up a Zondle account is 23869-46616.

Students with any questions can also see Mr. Wannamaker before or after school this week.

Lastly, this Thursday, Mr. Wannamaker is coming out of basketball-retirement to represent LCJSMS in the Summit Basketball For A Cause Event. It should be a fun time and all proceeds are going to a good cause, so please consider checking it out!

Have a great week!
