Beginning Our Greece Unit

It's exciting times here in Social Studies and at LCJSMS!

Students spent most of today beginning our unit on Ancient Greece. We identified and defined key vocabulary words related to Ancient Greece, and then we applied this newfound knowledge in completing concept circles and analogies. We'll most likely have a brief quiz on these vocabulary words on Wednesday (Thursday for Period 7, since they were a bit delayed today).

For the remainder of the week, we'll be moving onto a few activities related to the Geography of Ancient Greece, and how the Ancient Greeks interacted with their environment.

In the coming weeks, we'll also look at the history and culture of the Ancient Greeks. All of this will culminate in our next project, which focuses on Ancient Athens and Sparta!

Lastly, Thursday also features the annual Hoops for Humanity student vs. teacher basketball game. This is always a great event, and students are highly encouraged to attend. All proceeds will be donated to charity!

Have a great week!
