After a slightly abbreviated week last week, students are back in the swing of Social Studies class!

This week, students are focusing on the Ancient Mauryan and Gupta Empires of India. This past Friday, we completed a mini-lesson which serves as an introduction to these two empires. This week, we'll be identifying important information about each empire, including a few important figures from these empires (like the emperor Asoka, a drawing of whom is at the top of this post), and the important achievements of the Gupta and Mauryans.

We'll most likely finish up with our activities related to these empires this week, so we'll plan for a quiz early next week.

After the quiz, students will spend a few days in class putting together their Recommendations for the Rajah project. Groups will be provided in class this week for the project.

Lastly, with the end of the Marking Period this Friday, any students concerned with their grades (especially this most recent Hinduism/Buddhism quiz), should speak with Mr. Wannamaker by the end of the day on Wednesday. Past that, students will not be able to discuss/retake any assessments. Mr. Wannamaker is available both both before and after school on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Have a great week!
