Athens and Sparta: the Olympic Bid Battle

posted May 27, 2014, 12:03 PM by Warren Wannamaker

Students will spend this week doing a few tasks. First, we'll have our quiz on Ancient Greek History on Wednesday. This quiz will assess student knowledge of the different ways Ancient Greece was governed, and the key facts concerning the Persian War.

Next, we'll take a look at the directions and requirements for our new project, which is entitled The Greek Olympic Bid Battle. In this project, teams of students will create proposals for the Greek cities of Athens and Sparta to host the Ancient Olympics. Students will need to persuade a Bid Committee that their city has what it takes to host the Ancient Games. Much more will be discussed concerning this project in class.

Finally, we'll complete activities concerning Athens and Sparta, which will help students create their projects. Next week, we'll also spend some time in the Library finding more facts to help us with our projects.

Have a great week!
